Weight: 3.92 lbs per Board Foot, 9.50% heavier than red oak. Hardness: 1360 Janka Rating, 5.43% harder than red oak. Density: 0.68 Specific Gravity, 6.25% denser than red oak. Quarter Sawn White Oak (Quercus alba) grows in North America, with a color range of beige to creamy tan. The tree can reach 100 feet in height and have a trunk up to 36 inches in diameter. Other names include Arizona oak and White oak. Typical uses are furniture, cabinets, flooring, boat building, and accessories. This lumber is surfaced smooth on two sides (S2S), kiln dried, and at least 83% clear on one side. Board footage (Bd. Ft.) is the unit of measurement for hardwood lumber, with one board foot equal to 144 cubic inches. The fraction '6/4, S2S' indicates the rough sawn thickness and surfaced state of the lumber. If you can cut your own pieces, we can help you order lumber that will yield your desired sizes. Our lumber is not guaranteed to be 100% clear on both sides, but most is graded 'Select' and better, ensuring at least 83% clear on one side.
